I simply cannot understand! I mean even cats dig holes in the ground to urinate and then take the time cover it or hide it, cats are cleaner than people?
And what’s up with spitting? I think one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever seen in my life, is people spitting on the streets, it’s not only disgusting it also pisses me off, because we live in a civilized country, people shouldn’t behave this way, and being the person that I am, I try to give dirty looks to some of them and talk to others, and the responses I get are as disgusting as their habits.
Last week I opened the newspaper and I saw something that immediately put a smile on my face.
For those who don’t understand Arabic, basically what it says is that Bahrain will start a campaign to stop spitting and urinating in public places, they will start by putting signs in Arabic, English, Urdu and Bengali and there will be police officers 6 hours a day driving around the streets making sure that people are following the rules.
Unfortunately what’s not mentioned is whether there will be a fine for those who break the rules or not, I really hope they do make a fine for people who spit or urinate at public places, and we’ll see how it feels to pay 50BD for every spit and urine stain.
Few days ago I was on my way to my car park leaving the university and there was this guy passing by who snot-rocket both nostrils in front of me. I immediately got the taste of vomit in the back of my mouth. It’s really disgusting how it became normal to see pools of spit everywhere.
Having to step on a spit with my new shoes, doesn’t only ruin them, it also freaks me out! Because a lot of germs and diseases can be transferred this way.
Some retarded guys think that spitting is a sign of being a real man!
In china they think that spitting can make you get rid of bad spirits and negative energies, in Bahrain or the middle east they do it when they’re angry as in "tuf aleek", especially in Egypt you can see in the movies when men flirt or something ladies spit in their faces, it’s hilarious, but totally low class!
Come on people.. can’t you express your anger in a less disgusting way?
Disgusting habits like spitting, can easily be observed in uncivilized countries where people think that these anti social habits are normal, most people who don't have access to proper education are guilty of it, now let’s leave etiquette and proper social behavior a side and focus on the mean issue which is the diseases that can be caused by these habits.
Diseases! The amount of diseases that can be transferred from one person to another by spitting or urinating are huge, most of these diseases are fatal and serious like tuberculosis!..
Just imagin this ok.. a person who has a serious illness spits on the street, you walk by and step on it, you go home walk around with your shoes, you have babies in the house, they lick the floor or touch it.. these diseases get transferred to your kids and loved ones, do you want that? Of course not.
What I’m trying to say here is that if you are practicing these habits, you need to stop because first, it’s not an acceptable behavior, second your image will be ruined and people will look down to you, third this is your country, you live in it, you should care about it and try your best to keep it clean, and finally think about the diseases that are caused by these habits, so before you spit or urinate in public think twice.
I think the government should continue with this campaign and perhaps provide more public restrooms for people to use.
